NYC's First Female Cab Driver Tells Interesting Story

I came across this very interesting article about New York City's first female cab driver, Ms. Gertrude Jeanette. The actress drove cabs in NYC and even went so far as to go downtown to grab fares, when blacks weren't allowed outside of Harlem to pick up fares. Trackstar The DJ and DJ Mark Divita put together a masterpiece with this mixtape 80 Blocks From Tiffany's which is a mixtape of Camp Lo rhyming over Pete Rock's instrumentals. Philadelphia Eagles' Jason Peters Arrested for Driving w/Loud Music

Can you imagine playing your favorite tune in the car a little too loud and costs you $628? Well Philadelphia Eagles' tackle Jason Peters had to post $628 bond after being arrested in Shreveport., La., for violating the city's loud music ordinance and resisting arrest.
Police spokesman Bill Goodin said Monday that Peters refused to show his driver's license after police stopped him Saturday night because of the volume of music coming from his vehicle. The charge of resisting arrest was added because of Peters refused to show his license to officers.

Soulcial Series Presents Eric Roberson and Avery Sunshine Live in Houston


Shouts out to The Soulcial Series thats been bringing great soul acts to the Houston area and this weekend The Soulcial Series brought Avery Sunshine and Eric Roberson to Houston. Now the show was off the hook and both artist tore it down.The crowd captured (and YouTube) Erro singing my favorite song off of the Left album and Avery doing one of my favorite joints from her, Pinin'.

The first lady, Michelle Obama will speak to Spelman College graduates the White House announced this past Friday. The ceremony will be May 15th and scheduled to receive honorary degrees are Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad.

The numers from the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau are slowly being counted and it seems that the Hispanic population in the U.S. is topping 50 million, officially solidifying the country's second-largest group.

R.I.P. DJ Megatron

Corey McGriff aka DJ Megatron was gundown and murdered early this moring near his home in Staten Island, NYC. The 32-year-old Dj was a regular on BET's 106 and Park and was a rising star in the Hip Hop world. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Read more (here).

Guinness Refuses To Recognize Oldest Woman Due To Slave Laws


Because Blacks were treated like animals in America and didn't keep slave records of birth, Guinness is refusing to recognized Rebecca Lanier who is 119 years old as the world’s oldest person, due to the fact that she had slave parents and could not obtain a birth certificate.

New Book is Saying Paris Hilton 'Can't Stand Black Guys'

Reports are surficing out of Los Angeles that Paris Hilton told a friend “I can’t stand black guys. I would never touch one” according to a new book by Neil Strauss called Everyone Loves You When You’re Dead.
HILTON: I went out with that guy last night.
STRAUSS: Which guy?
HILTON: (points to an actor in Saving Private Ryan): We were making out, but then we went somewhere where it was bright and I saw that he was black and made an excuse and left. I can’t stand black guys. I would never touch one. It’s gross. (pauses). Does that guy look black to you?
STRAUSS: How black does a guy have to be?
HILTON: One percent is enough for me.

I just got turned on to this guy Mateo thanks to Goapele's Facebook page. I gave the song a listen and off of first listen, I said to myself, "I Like. I Like a lot". Actually that's what I posted on Goapele's FB thread and I gave this song another listen. Mateo is set to drop his Love and Stadiums Mixtape on 3/30 and here is his first visual from the project. The song is entitled, "Don't Shoot Me Down" and it features Goapele and Ab Liva.

Man Shows Up for DUI Court Date with Four Cans of Beer

Keith Gruber showed up to his DUI court appearance with an open can of beer and a bag with four cans of Busch beer inside. He was thrown in jail without bond. Read more (here). 

4-Year-Old United States Citizen Gets Deported

A four-year-old girl was traveling back to the US from Guatemala with her grandfather after visiting relatives there. Upon returning to the states, officials realized that her grandfather entered the country illegally in the past and he was detained. During his detainment, he got sick, and officials did not attempt to look for the little girl's family in US, instead, she was deported back to Guatemala. She's a US citizen and have every right to return home. SMH at this one. Read more (here). 

Police Kick Cowboys' Dez Bryant Out of the Mall for 'Sagging' Pants

"Pants on the Ground. Pants on the Ground. You looking like a fool, with your pants on the ground". That was the infamous line by last year's American Idol contestant, Larry Platt (Click here if you missed that). but unfortunately there are still some 'fools' who like their pants on the ground. Hence, the Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, who was recently ejected from an upscale Dallas shopping mall and given a criminal trespass warning from off-duty police officer after a dispute over some 'sagging' pants worn by him and some of his companions. Elizabeth Taylor Dies at 79

R.I.P. to a silver screen legend, Ms. Elizabeth Taylor. The former actress and AIDS activist past earlier today. The cause has not yet been reported, but the 79-year-old actress had been hospitalized in recent weeks due to congestive heart failure. Read more (here).
