Kobe Bryant's New Deal with Turkish Airlines Sparks Outrage Among Lakers Fans

Kobe Bryant hit a bump while trying to get some of that international money. Kobe recently inked a deal with Turkish Airlines to be the face of their airlines, since they have announced a new route from Istanbul and Los Angeles. No biggie you would think, but the problem here is LA has a large Armenian population (many who are Lakers fans) and they are upset at the Turkish government for refusing to officially admit genocide took place with a massacre starting in 1915 against some ethnic groups. The most famous of the Armenian LA, The Kardashians. The Turkish government not accepting responsibility for the genocide while many scholars say took place, has been a source of tension between Turkey and many of its Western allies (America included).

Canada recognized the mass killings as 'genocide' in 2004 and when Kobe was in Toronto this past Sunday, the protesters were outside the arena. The U.S. has not adopted a similar resolution though the matter is being presented to Congress. This is not going to go away, so expect the Armenian people to show up to more Lakers games with their signs. Read more here.....

With the recent buzz over Turkish Airlines, I’ve been finding it rather difficult to sort out the “white noise” if you will from the real informative stuff. Not sure whether you’d still be interested, but here’s a pretty good article that I managed to get my hands on: http://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/showlink.aspx?bookmarkid=3EU7T80HIYD6&preview=article&linkid=b70752da-6bc3-4231-b8a6-7d79dccfa2bb&pdaffid=ZVFwBG5jk4Kvl9OaBJc5%2bg%3d%3d
