R.I.P. Jam Master Jay

Jason William Mizell (January 21, 1965 – October 30, 2002), better known as Jam-Master Jay, was born in Brooklyn, but like many families, his family later moved to Hollis, Queens. He was the DJ  of the influential group Run-D.M.C. and helped define the sound of the band, the style of the black hats and Adidas shoes that came to be the band's trademark. During the 1980s, Run-D.M.C. became the biggest hip-hop group and they are credited with breaking hip-hop into mainstream music. My favorite memory of Jay, is when my cousin and I were doing some home improvement work in his house and seeing him operate as a family man with his sons. That's my favorite memory of Jay as a family man. He is truly missed in this game.
