Houston Celebrating Juneteenth and BLACK Music Month-Dwele, Raekwon, Morris Day and The Time

Sorry about the late news Houston, but this is going to be a busy, fun weekend for BLACK History Month. This weekend brings about the celebration of Juneteenth, an African-American unofficial holiday. The holiday or celebration is when slaves in the furthest state of the union (Texas)  got the news about their freedom. In other words, the state of Texas got two plus years of extra FREE labor out of their slaves. When the news hit, around June 19th, the former slaves celebrated in joy.

With all of that said, tomorrow Majic 102FM will host its 3rd Annual Juneteenth Summer Jam featuring Morris Day & The Time, Shock G of Digital Underground and Dwele! Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Sam Houston Race Park. If you haven't gotten tickets by now, there are lawn tickets still available for $15. For More Info Click Here

Also Houston Raekwon of The WU Tang Clan will hit the city tomorrow at Warehouse Live. I understand tickets are only $15 and some were still available today. Click here for more info
